Training For Utopia Is:
- Ryan Clark- vocals
- Don Clark- guitar
- Steve- bass
- Morley- drums
|
- - - ->A lot of dispute and controversy loom
around this band, regarding whether or not they are a christian band. Even
though Don Clark has explained many times that they are not a christian band,
many people still don't get it. TFU came together for one reason: To make some
grooving hardcore music. They don't have any special message for anybody, music
is just their job. Spiritual content still tends to show up in their songs
because both Ryan and Don Clark are christians. Ryan(the singer) writes all the
lyrics. He writes about what he feels, and reactions to things that anger him.
Since he's a christian his reaction is usually Christ-centered. Duh! Adding to
this controversy is the spooky feel and sound of their music. TFU's first full
length, Plastic Soul Impalement, was haunting, heavy, and insane. It's filled
with crazy riffs, attacking vocals, weird sounds, and loops. The slightly
disturbing cover and cd booklet art caused the cd to be banned from some
christian bookstores. TFU's video "Two Hands" even had to have a freakin'
disclaimer. People should stop crappin' bricks and just recognize that Training
For Utopia puts out some awesome music. Recently in the studio, TFU laid down
tracks for their upcoming cd "Throwing A Wrench Into The American Music Machine."
Don Clark recently explained in a solidstate biography that TFU is taking a
different musical direction. They are going electronic. Don't freak out 'cuz I
said electronic, they still have their sound. It's just a new Training For
Utopia for a new millenium. TFU might be in a weird situation, but the funny
thing is they don't care. They will just keep on ticking regardless of any
label that is slapped on them. I guess you could say they are *~(UNCONFORMED)~*
