EverydayLife Is:
|
- - - >It's been a long hard road for Long Beach California's ,Every Day Life(EDL), to
get where they are today. Started around '91-'92, Tedd, Carl, and Eric would get
together every Sunday afternoon and jam. None of them really took EDL seriuosly
in the beginning. Carl was in a seperate grind-core band, and Tedd Cockerly had
a solo rap project. One day Eric informed Tedd that he had quit his grind-core
band, and wanted to make EDL big. Soon after, EDL started touring locally and
recorded their first demo. Almost immeadiatly after they recorded it, they
were handed several record contracts. With all the record contracts, they ended
up getting screwed over by many record companies. By the time "Disgruntled" was
released, the drum and bass tracks had been finished for over 3 years.
"Disgruntled" was probably the most controversial cd released in the Christian
Music Industry. At that time, EDL was out to alienate everyone. They really
bitter and frustrated about some of the things that happened to them. Since
then, however, EDL has matured a lot. Maturity has brought a new focus to their
music. They intend to show people love, and have lightened up. "American Standard"
proved that EDL could have fun while thrashing. September 14,1999 "Moment of
Clarity" came out and is more hip-hop orientated. Even though I haven't picked
it up yet, I know it will be good. Obviously the secular market recognizes their
talent too. EDL has signed contracts with secular distributors, and is being
played on the radio. They are doing well on the charts too. Well deserved
recognition is finally being given to Everyday Life. They know how to rock!
